**Job Summary**

We are seeking a part-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to work committed shifts in all areas of the Operating Room at Southlake Regional Health Centre. This position involves working 8/10 and 12 hour shifts with on-call night and weekends.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-directed, and key member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with defined roles focused on quality patient care and patient flow. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced setting.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide respiratory care to patients in the Operating Room
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care and patient flow
  • Participate in the CRTO's Quality Assurance Program
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest respiratory care practices and technologies
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams

**Requirements:**

  • RRT registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists in the General Class
  • Practice according to the standards and guidelines set out by the College
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Registered with the C.R.T.O.
  • Practice according to the standards and guidelines set out by the College
  • Participates in the CRTO's Quality Assurance Program
  • Knowledge of Anaesthesiology, basic hemodynamic principles, and Anaesthesia equipment to be operated
  • Multi-service Operating Room experience within the last 5 years is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years recent critical care experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated competence in arterial line insertion is required
  • BCLS is required
  • ACLS is preferred
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates willingness to work in an interprofessional environment
