Locum Physician Opportunity in Dartmouth

We are seeking a skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at Dartmouth Medical Centre for a locum opportunity. This is a great chance to gain experience in a busy practice with a full-time vacancy.
The locum physician will be responsible for examining patients, taking their histories, ordering diagnostic tests, and advising patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention. They will also consult with other medical practitioners, act as patient advocates, and prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
The ideal candidate will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. They will also have membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
Responsibilities- Examine patients and take their histories
- Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult with other medical practitioners
- Act as patient advocates
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
