Locum Family Physician Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Medicine Physician to join our team on a locum basis at Dartmouth Medical Centre.
This vibrant practice, located in the heart of downtown Dartmouth, serves a diverse patient population. The clinic utilizes Accuro EMR and offers opportunities for virtual care components. This is an excellent chance to gain valuable experience within this thriving practice, which also has a full-time vacancy available.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient examinations and gather comprehensive medical histories.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures to ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Provide patients with evidence-based advice on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with other medical practitioners through consultations and referrals.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, including inoculations and vaccinations, in accordance with best practices.
- Adhere to Nova Scotia Public Health requirements by reporting births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other relevant health information.
Qualifications:
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Maintain membership in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
