POSITION SUMMARY

The Nursing Unit Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a high-quality and secure patient care environment that adheres to established clinical standards through effective management of both human and organizational resources within a designated unit.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Guarantee patient safety by adhering to established clinical quality benchmarks in line with company policies and procedures.
  2. Identify and manage clinical risks within the unit.
  3. Direct and support the nursing staff within the unit.
  4. Oversee the unit's operational and capital expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial and budgetary guidelines while optimizing resource utilization.
  5. Enhance and contribute to a positive patient experience within the healthcare facility.
  6. Facilitate the achievement of collaborative outcomes across departments.
  7. Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: A 3 or 4-year Diploma or a 4-year Degree in Nursing; a postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty area (if applicable).

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience in a hospital setting; 2-3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare environment.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Knowledge in Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Understanding of auditing and accreditation processes.
  • Proficiency in clinical risk management.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Knowledge of human resource processes, including employee relations.
  • Expertise in infection prevention and control.
  • Ability to manage staff productivity effectively.
  • Comprehensive nursing functional knowledge.
