Position Title: Activity Leader, Support & Inclusion
Rate of Pay: $21.00 per hour
Terms: Permanent, Part-time (17.5 hours/week)
Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 6:00pm
Reports To: Team Leader

As a YMCA Activity Leader focused on Support & Inclusion, you will thrive in a dynamic and enjoyable environment, guiding tailored programming that enables children aged 5 to 12 to engage meaningfully in all facets of the program. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that children with varying abilities or support requirements have a welcoming before and after school care experience.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 19 years.
- Experience supporting children aged 5 – 12 with additional needs.
- Certification in Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED.
- Completion of 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance, and/or Nutrition is an asset.
- Familiarity with working with children with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with the staff team to create an inclusive environment that offers support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs.
- Provide individualized support to children within the program as necessary.
- Contribute to building a community atmosphere that promotes global support and inclusion for all children by recognizing their strengths and areas for growth.
- Assist children in navigating conflicts and model positive behaviors.
- Participate in the development, integration, and maintenance of care plans within the program.
- Offer enhanced support ratios to assist all children in the program, which may include providing individual support when needed.
