Mental Health Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Homewood Health, a leading provider of mental health and addiction services. As a Registered Nurse on our Mood, Anxiety, Substance Treatment and Recovery Service, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients on the MASTRS/OASIS unit, adhering to CNO standards and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
- Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs, ensuring seamless service delivery and program implementation.
- Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, directing the work of others and ensuring effective team management.
- Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Licensed as an RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
- BScN and CPMHN(C) preferred.
- 2+ years recent experience working with mood and anxiety patients is preferred.
- Mental Health Nursing certificate preferred.
- 1 year in Charge Nurse role preferred.
- CPR/Basic rescuer certification.
- Strong assessment and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act and community mental health resources.
- Knowledge of documentation standards (CNO) and privacy legislation (PHIPPA).
