We are seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to play a pivotal role in enhancing our customer experience by ensuring seamless transactions.

Role Overview

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Sleep Country, you will lead our DevOps and security initiatives, focusing on the management, daily operations, and security of our technological ecosystem, particularly within Oracle and Google Cloud environments. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of Oracle technologies and applications, alongside strong leadership and analytical skills. You will enhance our monitoring and alerting systems while ensuring the security, compliance, and functionality of our cloud-based applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of all facets of DevSecOps, including pipeline management, logging, monitoring, and security tools.
  • Collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams to ensure operational efficiency of our Oracle Retail Process Orchestration and Monitoring (POM) processes.
  • Manage and enhance our monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Administer the Apigee API management platform, ensuring secure API development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Formulate and enforce policies for data protection, compliance, and privacy in accordance with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Design and implement robust security measures for cloud and hybrid systems, focusing on risk mitigation.
  • Assist in developing and executing security policies, controls, and best practices for our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
  • Lead incident response efforts related to cloud and API security, including investigation and recovery processes.
  • Engage with IT, development, and business teams to integrate DevSecOps principles into technology and business strategies.
  • Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, trends, and threats; recommend and implement innovative DevSecOps solutions.
  • Support application teams in adopting DevSecOps tools and technologies, collaborating with vendors to resolve platform-related issues.
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables, maintaining high-quality standards and documentation to facilitate operational transitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least seven years of experience in DevSecOps, with a minimum of three years focused on cloud operations and security.
  • Three years of development experience in object-oriented programming languages.
  • Proven experience collaborating with teams on complex, multi-tiered web applications.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Practical knowledge of infrastructure as code tools.
  • Understanding of Test or Behavior Driven Development.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • General understanding of data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA) and experience with compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST).
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying strategic information and security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Technologies:

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Retail Cloud, Oracle Retail Merchandising.
  • Expertise in Google Cloud Platform and Apigee, including CloudRun/CloudBuild, GKE, CloudSQL, with relevant certifications.
  • Java SpringBoot or similar build and test tools.
  • Jira Software Management, Confluence.
  • Dynatrace Performance Monitoring and PagerDuty Operations for incident response.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, GitLab/GitHub/CloudBuild, Kubernetes deployment, Terraform, and other Agile CI/CD tools.
