About the Role:
We are seeking a Catastrophe Field Adjuster to join our Property Claims team at Aviva Canada. As a Catastrophe Field Adjuster, you will play a critical role in helping our customers recover from severe weather events and other catastrophic losses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site and/or virtual inspections of personal and commercial claims to assess damages and determine the scope of repairs.
- Responsible for gathering facts and information to write accurate and comprehensive repair estimates.
- Reconcile and validate vendor estimates to ensure price and scope are appropriate.
- Investigate claims by meeting with insureds, third parties, witnesses, and lawyers to obtain facts and information.
- Review facts, policy, technical reports, and make decisions on coverage, value of the claim, and negotiate/settle the claim accordingly.
- Provide exemplary customer service and keep related parties informed of the claims status.
- Responsible for data accuracy, issuance of payments to insureds, vendors, and other insurance companies.
- Support the business as needed when not deployed.
- Correspond with third parties, lawyers, insureds, brokers, and individuals or companies who have an interest in the claim settlement.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Field Adjuster handling Personal Lines and Commercial Lines claims.
- Strong background in Property Insurance.
- Preference given to a candidate with the ability to scope damages and prepare an estimate for repairs.
- Good PC skills and adaptable using new technology.
- Valid driver's license.
