Job Title: CADD Specialist I

Halton Region is seeking a highly skilled CADD Specialist I to provide technical expertise and support for regional infrastructure replacement projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor of Technical & Design Services to provide CADD support and technical expertise.
  • Conduct project research from internal and external sources to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Compile and complete engineering base plan drawings to meet project requirements.
  • Create water and wastewater design drawings and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Perform engineering calculations and field edits to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant standards and legislated regulations to ensure adherence.
  • Check drawings for compliance to standards and ensure accuracy.
  • Correspond and work with utilities, local municipalities, and government agencies to facilitate project progress.
  • Attend project meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Update drawings to "As Constructed" status and archive "As Constructed" drawings for future reference.
  • Support Project Managers and Management staff as required to ensure project success.
  • Participate in job rotations/shadowing within the various teams of Technical Services to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Support CADD Specialist II as needed to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an OACETT accredited college or other recognized institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in CADD support and technical expertise.
  • Proven skills with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, including pipe networks, volumes, grading, and ditches.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  • Possess strong analytical/mathematical skills and effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Municipal design experience utilizing Civil 3D.
  • Skills with Civil3D sections, assemblies, and corridor modeling.
  • Municipal experience in design, survey, or inspection.
Working Conditions:
  • Incumbent will attend design and construction site visits and meetings as required within Halton Region.
  • This position has prolonged periods of sitting.
