About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at SKY CONTRACTING INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in all aspects of carpentry, from preparation to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Develop and implement layouts in accordance with building codes, using precision measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel
  • Prepare and submit tenders and quotations for projects
  • Build and install foundations, floor beams, subflooring, walls, and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Coordinate and schedule work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Conduct site surveys and level checks to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Supervise and mentor other workers to ensure high standards of workmanship
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Operate computer-aided design (CADD) software and other digital tools to support project planning and execution
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in various settings
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety protocols, and industry standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour in a fast-paced environment
