We are seeking a professional and reliable individual to join our team as an RCMP Detention Guard. As a member of our team, you will provide services in a detention facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of prisoners and staff.

Commissionaires NL is a not-for-profit provider of security, safety, training, and identification services. We are an independent member of Commissionaires Canada, employing over 22,000 nationwide. Our mission is to provide meaningful employment for veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, their families, and anyone else who wants to contribute to the security and well-being of Newfoundland & Labrador.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular prisoner well-being checks and provide meals
  • Observe prisoners using CCTV cameras and perform physical checks at cell doors
  • Write detailed reports on prisoner activity and condition
  • Sit or stand for extended periods
  • Assist police members with prisoner searches if required
  • Deal with people in difficult situations
  • Clean and prepare cells

Requirements:

  • Be professional and reliable
  • Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check and RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance through the detachment
  • Hold Emergency Level First Aid CPR/AED certification

Qualifications and Skills:

The selected candidate will be a professional and detail-driven individual with a strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude. Both physical and mental fitness are required. Key qualifications and skills include mental alertness, superior attention to detail, excellent verbal communication skills, and excellent customer service skills.
