We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Jot Flooring & Renovations Inc. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction and renovation of residential and commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and layout building sites in accordance with building codes and regulations, using measuring tools and equipment.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to create structures and fixtures.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure the stability and integrity of buildings.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the finishing touches on construction projects.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of other carpenters and construction workers to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Estimate costs and materials to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial properties, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
- Bending, crouching, kneeling to perform tasks that require flexibility and mobility.
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking to perform tasks that require prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Handling heavy loads to perform tasks that require manual labor and physical strength.
- Large workload to perform tasks that require high levels of productivity and efficiency.
- Physically demanding work environment that requires physical stamina and endurance.
- Tight deadlines to complete projects on time and to a high standard.
- Steel-toed safety boots to ensure personal safety and protection on the job site.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, and management.
- Judgement and reliability to make sound decisions and complete tasks to a high standard.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in a construction or renovation setting.
- Permanent employment opportunity with a reputable company.
- 32 hours per week of work, with opportunities for overtime and professional development.
- English as the primary language of communication.
