Patient Scheduling Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Registration/Booking Clerk. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking patient appointments, managing patient demographics, and performing various administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and book patient appointments using a computerized scheduling system, ensuring accurate and timely appointments.
- Manage patient demographics and ensure accurate and complete information is maintained.
- Perform receptionist and clerical duties, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and greeting patients and families.
- Assemble and maintain client charts, utilizing appropriate forms and layout in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain various records, including data entry, collating information, and maintaining log sheets and patient statistics.
- Provide clerical support to the department, including booking meetings, following up on action items, and preparing and submitting expense claims.
- Obtain and return patient charts from Health Records, and obtain health record unit numbers for new patients.
Requirements
- Grade 12, plus two (2) years' recent experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to keyboard 45 wpm, and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work, and operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
