RocMar Engineering Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Revit Technical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating and managing building information models (BIMs) using Revit software.
Key Responsibilities- Site Surveys and Data Collection: Assist engineers with site visits to conduct field surveys and collect data to be used in BIM creation.
- Engineering Drawing Development: Develop and prepare engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, point clouds, and calculation notes prepared by engineers.
- BIM Creation and Management: Generate and design as-built drawings using Revit in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Compliance and Permitting: Ensure compliance of drawings with building codes and regulations, and assist with the building permit application process.
- Communication and Collaboration: Respond to comments and requests raised by City officials and contractors, and assist engineers in preparing engineering reports and memoranda.
- Construction Site Inspections: Assist engineers in construction site inspections and writing site inspection reports.
- Technical Support: Perform other technical functions in support of engineering activities.
- Education: Post-secondary education in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology; Certification in engineering technology through relevant provincial association is an asset.
- Experience: 1-3 years of working experience in preparing architectural and/or structural drawings.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written English communication, experience with OBC (Ontario Building Code) and NBCC (National Building Code of Canada), and knowledge of building construction processes, practices, and details.
- Certifications: AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred).
