Northern Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department, working under the supervision of a Physician Supervisor.
- Collaborate with our team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement care strategies to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Registration as a certified non-registrant as a Physician Assistant with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
- Current certification as a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants NCCPA.
- English language proficiency meeting CPSBC requirements.
- Canadian Citizenship, permanent residency, or legal authorization to live and work in British Columbia.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Compliance with all Northern Health educational/training requirements.
- Experience working in an Emergency Department or similar clinical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and other clinical software systems.
