The Royal is actively seeking qualified Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) to join our team. The RPN will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical challenges within the mental health and addiction sectors. Responsibilities encompass delivering supportive nursing care aligned with patient treatment and rehabilitation objectives. The RPN will engage in assessing patient needs and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate tailored nursing care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention and emergency nursing care.
- Assist in the assessment of patients' needs and collaborate on care plans.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Previous experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act.
- Completion of Safety and Security in the Workplace Training (if not already completed).
- Valid driver's license, if applicable.
- English proficiency at level A- is mandatory; bilingualism is an asset.
