About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at STARFLEET CONSTRUCTION INC. as a key member of our woodworking department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Design and build custom cabinets that maximize storage space, taking into account the needs of our clients.
  • Shape and finish wood surfaces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, and wood files.
  • Study plans and specifications to ensure accurate production of articles.
  • Assemble and trim joints to form complete units, reinforcing joints as necessary.
  • Apply finishes, such as varnish, veneer, stain, or polish, to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to WHMIS regulations.
  • Supervise and train other workers as needed.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects.
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in cabinetmaking or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Accurate, organized, and punctual with a strong team player mentality.
