We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at STARFLEET CONSTRUCTION INC. as a key member of our woodworking department.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a variety of woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
- Design and build custom cabinets that maximize storage space, taking into account the needs of our clients.
- Shape and finish wood surfaces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, and wood files.
- Study plans and specifications to ensure accurate production of articles.
- Assemble and trim joints to form complete units, reinforcing joints as necessary.
- Apply finishes, such as varnish, veneer, stain, or polish, to finished products.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to WHMIS regulations.
- Supervise and train other workers as needed.
- Estimate costs and materials for projects.
- Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
- 5+ years of experience in cabinetmaking or a related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Steel-toed safety boots and other necessary personal protective equipment.
- Accurate, organized, and punctual with a strong team player mentality.
