Job Overview:

Department Insight

The Market Risk (MR) division is tasked with overseeing the constantly evolving landscape of trading and non-trading market risk, counterparty credit, margin management, and liquidity risk. Within MR, our mission is to support TD Securities and TBSM business goals while adhering to TD's risk appetite and regulatory standards. MR provides independent oversight of enterprise-wide market, counterparty credit, and liquidity risks, ensuring that all significant risks are accurately measured, reported, analyzed, and transparent.

As a Senior Analyst in the Market Risk Credit Team, you will be integral to a group responsible for various activities related to the assessment, reporting, and monitoring of risk metrics such as market risk, Value at Risk (VaR), and Stress Testing. Furthermore, the team implements infrastructure modifications concerning the adoption of new or updated risk policies, regulatory mandates, system enhancements, and ad-hoc evaluations utilized by the Bank to monitor market risk comprehensively. The Market Risk team operates globally, supporting trading functions in multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the escalation and management of market risk policies as part of the risk reporting framework.
  • Support the bank's risk appetite by providing guidance and monitoring daily operations within the team, ensuring thorough and precise analysis.
  • Propose and advocate for initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies.
  • Comprehend system and model alterations, their outcomes, and their implications on risk and valuation processes.
  • Take ownership of and critically assess process designs to implement changes effectively.
  • Ensure appropriate review and evaluation of output quality based on business standards.
  • Assist in identifying innovative opportunities and contribute to driving these initiatives forward.
  • Advance analytical capabilities and cultivate skills necessary for current and future demands.
  • Collaborate with business partners, sharing insights and identifying potential opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust understanding of the analytical principles that underpin the pricing and risk management of financial derivatives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, advice, and empowerment to the team.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the industry, particularly in risk management, and/or applicable accreditation.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
  • A proactive and highly motivated individual who thrives on process improvements.
  • An independent thinker with the ability to learn and adapt swiftly.
  • Experience in Market Risk measurement and reporting, including metrics such as Interest Rate Delta and Credit Spread Delta.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, regulations, and market risk metrics.
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields.
  • Pursuit or completion of CFA/FRM is advantageous.
