Position Overview:


The Lead Senior Accountant will leverage extensive accounting expertise and a comprehensive grasp of financial principles and organizational practices to execute intricate accounting tasks and financial evaluations.


Key Responsibilities:
§Prepare audit, review, and compilation engagements;
§Uphold professional and firm standards;
§Maintain consistent communication with the Manager and provide updates on the engagement status;
§Identify and communicate significant issues to the manager, proposing solutions when necessary;
§Detect, investigate, and rectify discrepancies or irregularities in client financial records, documents, and reports;
§Engage directly with clients, government entities, and other business contacts as required;
§Contribute innovative ideas and strategies to enhance work processes;
§Promote the firm at community events and engage in networking opportunities;
§Participate in internal and external training to enhance accounting and assurance expertise;
§Mentor and coach junior team members;
§Deliver internal training sessions for junior staff.

Qualifications:
§Education
oBachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification or experience
oCompletion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
§Experience
oAt least 2 years of experience in public accounting performing similar duties;
§Skills and Knowledge

oExceptional time management abilities:
Efficiently managing tasks and adhering to file budgets;
oExtensive knowledge and experience with ASPE and NPOs;
oProficient in Sage 50 and/or QuickBooks, Caseware, TaxPrep, or similar tax software;
oStrong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles;
oExcellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information and gathering data;
oHigh level of professionalism and the ability to establish rapport with clients and external business associates.

oExperience with owner-managed, small to mid-sized enterprises and familiarity with not-for-profit organizations would be advantageous;
