JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting Department and will work closely with the Director of Accounting and Accounting Managers. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and will be responsible for the preparation of month-end close activities such as reconciliation of ledger accounts, reviewing P&L statements, and recording accounting transactions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Performs general accounting month-end close activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules.
  2. Prepare and post journal entries during month-end close.
  3. Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
  4. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements, and reports.
  5. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects.
  6. Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
  7. Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  8. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  9. Contributes to the development of organization’s goals and objectives.
  10. Frequent communication with internal teams and with outside customer contacts.
  11. Represents the organization on projects and may perform in project leadership role and/or may supervise the activities of lower-level personnel (exempt professional and non-exempt).

Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 Years of Experience in Accounting & Finance, or related field
  2. 2+ Years in a Sr. Accountant/Analyst role
  3. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related field
  4. Audit experience preferred
  5. Advanced Excel experience required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
  6. Knowledge of month-end close process
  7. Solid understanding of databases and extracting information through SQL scripts
  8. Experience in an ERP Systems, preferably Oracle
  9. Holds CPA, CPA Candidate preferred
