Traverse Independence is currently looking for a Part-Time Attendant Care Worker. ABOUT TRAVERSE INDEPENDENCE

Founded in 1975, Traverse Independence is committed to providing housing and support services for individuals with physical disabilities. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include support for individuals with brain injuries, operating multiple facilities in the Region of Waterloo and County of Wellington. Our mission is to empower our clients to live independently through comprehensive support services.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ATTENDANT CARE WORKER

As an Attendant Care Worker, you will utilize your prior experience to effectively manage daily responsibilities. Your role will involve assisting clients with essential daily tasks, including dressing, bathing, meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping. You will maintain clear communication with clients and their families to ensure optimal care quality. Proficiency in computer skills is necessary for maintaining accurate records and charting.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven experience in providing personal care to individuals with disabilities or complex care needs

- A valid Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent experience

- Strong computer skills for charting and documentation

- Flexibility in scheduling and reliable transportation

- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

- Ability to pass a background check

- Valid Level C CPR/Standard First Aid Certification

- Experience working with clients with complex needs

- Must possess a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, along with proof of $1,000,000 liability insurance
