About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker, Building to join our team at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building's systems and maintaining a safe and clean environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as adjusting and repairing heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct safety and security checks to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants, providing excellent customer service and showcasing our facilities.
  • Supervise other workers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and a strong work ethic.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience an asset, with a strong background in maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle repetitive tasks with ease.
  • Excellent physical capabilities, including the ability to lift heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent oral and written communication.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Dependability and reliability, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position, working 32 to 40 hours per week. The language of work is English.
