Carpenter - Construction and Installation Specialist

We are a leading provider of high-quality granite and quartz surfaces, and we are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly skilled Carpenter to work with our team of experienced professionals. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Scheduling and coordinating work on sites.
- Surveying building locations and levels.
- Instructing apprentices.
- Supervising other workers.
- Estimating costs and materials.
- Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
- Providing physical accessibility accommodations (e.g., ramps, elevators, etc.).
- Providing visual accessibility accommodations (e.g., braille, screen readers, etc.).
- Providing auditory accessibility accommodations (e.g., transcription software, teletypewriters, etc.).
- Participating in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities.
- Offering mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities.
- Providing awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Applying accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities.
- Participating in government or community programs that support newcomers and/or refugees.
- Assisting with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (e.g., housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.).
- Supporting social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (e.g., facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.).
- Recruiting newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (e.g., Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.).
- Supporting newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
- Offering mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
- Providing diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
- Participating in government or community programs that support youth employment.
- Offering on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Offering mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
- Providing awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Participating in government or community programs that support Veterans.
- Offering mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans.
- Providing awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.
- Recruiting Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives (e.g., job fairs, outreach programs, etc.).
- Assisting with immediate transition needs of Veterans (e.g., relocation, housing, etc.).
- Offering workshops, counselling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce (e.g., adapting to different organizational structures).
- Supporting Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market.
- Offering flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace (e.g., gradually increasing hours and responsibilities, etc.).
- Participating in government or community programs that support Indigenous people.
- Offering mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
- Providing cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Facilitating access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Participating in government or community programs that support mature workers.
- Applying hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Providing staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
- Offering mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for mature workers.
- Offering phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload (e.g., flexible or reduced work hours, part-time employment, project-based or seasonal work, etc.).
- Offering phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring (e.g., gradually increasing hours and responsibilities).
- Providing workspace accommodations (e.g., age-appropriate ergonomic considerations) to meet the physical needs of mature workers (e.g., adjustable desks and chairs, accessible parking, etc.).
- Offering resources to help mature workers plan their retirement (e.g., financial planning, access to pension and benefits, lifestyle adjustments, etc.).
- Participating in government or community programs that support members of visible minorities.
- Applying hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (e.g., anonymizing the hiring process, etc.).
- Offering mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
- Providing diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
