Job Summary:

The Flooring Specialist will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of flooring, including hardwood, carpet, tile, and resilient flooring. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
  • Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
  • Install carpeting, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
  • Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations
  • Prepare floors for installations
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
  • Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting
  • Perform direct glue-down carpet installations and double-bond carpet installations
  • Install resilient stair components and vinyl decking materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in flooring installation
  • Commercial and residential installation experience
  • Ability to work in various locations and in employer's/client's home
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
