- Assist patients in adopting healthier lifestyles and overcoming detrimental habits.
- Request and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic assessments to determine optimal treatment plans.
- Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to assess patients' overall health.
- Prescribe medications and implement treatment plans.
- Perform routine surgical procedures and assist in surgeries.
- Administer vaccinations and immunizations to prevent disease.
- Provide guidance on health-related matters.
- Act as an advocate for patients' health needs.
- Manage and coordinate primary care for patients.
- Deliver acute care as necessary.
- Offer counseling and support to patients and their families regarding various health and lifestyle concerns.
- Provide emergency medical care when required.
- Certification from the College of Family Physicians (CCFP).
- Licensure from relevant provincial or territorial authorities.
