About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Inspector to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Division, you will play a critical role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on HSE procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and health
Requirements
  • High school diploma and five years of experience in construction, industry, manufacturing, or transportation
  • Knowledge and experience in safety, gained through previous work participation in OHS committees and/or training
  • Certification in Temporary Workplace Signing, Emergency or Standard First Aid, and WHMIS
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry with computerized databases
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
