About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at Sweet Gallery. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating exquisite pastries, desserts, and other sweet treats that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Analyze sales data and other metrics to inform menu development and optimize profitability.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and cooking techniques to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Train and supervise a team of cooks and pastry assistants to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Collaborate with our events team to create custom desserts and pastries for weddings, banquets, and other special occasions.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain a well-stocked and organized kitchen.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a pastry or baking role, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to train and supervise a team.
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.
