Job Description

As a Sales Operations Specialist at WESCO Distribution, you will play a critical role in driving the sales organization's effectiveness and efficiency. You will work closely with Outside Sales Representatives, Inside Sales, and support functions to ensure a steady flow of meaningful sales interactions, resulting in an expansion of outside sales capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement Sales Process Improvements: Work with various internal departments to develop a backlog of selling opportunities for assigned Outside Sales Representatives, increasing sales process efficiency.
  2. Sales Call Scheduling and Deployment: Schedule sales calls and deploy Field Technical Specialists to ensure timely and effective customer interactions.
  3. Post-Sales Project Management: Manage complex proposal development, lead post-sale projects, and interact with Inside Sales, suppliers, COE, and customers to ensure timely and accurate execution of complex projects.
  4. Pricing Strategy and Negotiation: Co-develop pricing strategy with management and outside sales, ensuring pricing agreements are made, loaded, and consistent with margin improvement expectations.
  5. Subject-Matter Expertise: May be designated as a subject-matter expert (SME) for critical customer(s), providing in-depth knowledge and expertise to drive sales growth.
  6. Workload Distribution and Management: Assist with distributing workload among inside sales team in larger and/or complex operations.

Qualifications:

  1. 2-3 years experience in inside or outside sales, project, business development, or operations management.
  2. Understanding and research of vertical market conditions, challenges, and directions.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  4. Ability to multi-task and prospect and market concepts to new and existing customers.
  5. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team environment and negotiate inventory strategies and contractual opportunities.
  6. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and knowledge of value of inventory and total cost of ownership.
  7. Proficient in managing and creating sales analysis, setting goals, developing and driving results-oriented activities.
  8. Ability to prepare for emerging customer needs.
