About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Journeyman/Woman to join our team at VEP Mechanical Ltd. As a key member of our plumbing crew, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in various commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Supervision: Lead a team of 1-4 people, providing guidance and instruction to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Pipe Fitting and Repair: Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, and join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges, and determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Tool Management: Maintain and manage a set of tools and equipment, including steel-toed safety boots and a hard hat.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as a Plumber Journeyman/Woman.
  • Certifications: Plumber Trade Certification, First Aid Certificate, Confined Space Entry Training, Plumber Red Seal Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Language: English.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a variable schedule, requiring the ability to work under pressure and manage a large workload. The successful candidate will be required to work at various locations, including construction sites, and will be expected to travel to different job sites as needed.
