Job Title: Journeyman/Woman Sheet Metal Worker

VEP Mechanical Ltd is seeking a skilled Journeyman/Woman Sheet Metal Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Journeyman/Woman Sheet Metal Worker to work on various projects, including installation, fabrication, and maintenance of sheet metal products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metalworking, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates
  • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements:
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification
  • Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
