Project Coordinator (Hazardous Materials Specialist)

Join Pinchin as a Project Coordinator specializing in hazardous materials management. This role is pivotal in our commitment to ensuring safety and compliance in various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of hazardous materials and workplace exposures.
- Engage with clients to gather information regarding building history and specific concerns.
- Perform detailed inspections and evaluations of building systems and materials.
- Utilize specialized equipment for measurements and sample collection.
- Identify and collect samples of suspect materials, including asbestos and lead.
- Draft comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations for hazardous materials management.
- Oversee and document the work of contractors involved in hazardous materials abatement.
- Analyze air samples for asbestos content.
- Support business development efforts with existing clients.
- Enhance quality control measures within the team.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Two to five years of relevant experience.
- Experience in hazardous materials management is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications (C.E.T. or similar) are a plus.
- Familiarity with environmental health and safety regulations.
- Understanding of building systems including structure, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in technical report writing.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours as needed.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle for travel requirements.
- Compliance with client security clearances and testing may be necessary.
