Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective pharmacy services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret medication orders and dispense medications using a computerized medication information system.
  • Assess prescriptions for therapeutic suitability and ensure that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed and/or compounded.
  • Communicate with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution.
  • Provide instructions to others on proper use, administration, storage, and disposal of medications.
  • Participate in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects and implement dispensary-based medication safety initiatives.
  • Maintain records for narcotic and controlled drugs, special access program drugs, and departmental statistics.
  • Participate in the orientation of pharmacy students, residents, technicians, assistants, and new staff members.
  • Contribute to internal publications and participate in clinical drug trials.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Broad knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based clinical pharmacy practice.
  • Knowledge of medication use evaluation.
  • Knowledge of research processes and methodology.
  • Ability to apply clinical pharmacy knowledge and make decisions.
  • Ability to supervise and provide work direction to staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare practitioners, patients, family members, and the public.
