Position Overview: Are you a seasoned professional in construction estimation? CB Canada is seeking a Senior Estimator within the construction sector. This role involves collaborating closely with clients to deliver comprehensive pre-construction services throughout the design and estimation phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your extensive experience and industry contacts to formulate a strategic plan and oversee estimates for diverse project sizes and types.
- Conduct thorough reviews of final estimate packages to ensure precision and completeness before formal submission.
- Maintain an understanding of the subcontractor market; proactively identify opportunities and strategize on how to leverage them effectively.
- Engage with clients, subcontractors, and consultants to establish advantageous positions during award negotiations without entering into formal negotiations.
- Maintain communication with project managers during the execution of successful bids to gather real-time feedback on bidding challenges.
- Mentor and cultivate team members to enhance productivity, innovation, and collaboration.
- Devise potential bidding strategies for both negotiated and competitive tender projects.
- Possess the expertise to quickly generate a preliminary budget for review by internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and engage in client presentations, including final negotiations.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in construction estimation.
- Ability to interpret and understand the implications of specifications and general conditions.
- Familiarity with insurance and bonding prerequisites.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and methodologies.
- Understanding of the effects of various bidding methods and types of head contracts.
- Capability to identify, evaluate, and address project risks, including exclusions, clarifications, and price adjustments.
- Innovative mindset to develop new processes and strategies to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Engage in additional research and assignments to expand personal and departmental knowledge.
