Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Services Manager to join our Information Technology Services team at Red Deer Polytechnic. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical management of our large-scale Enterprise network, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance IT cloud services, connectivity, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage service deliverables and client expectations, ensuring staff compliance with established procedures to ensure prompt and quality service for IT service requests.
  • Coordinate and manage the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of new service initiatives.
  • Coordinate capacity planning and acquisition of servers, networks, and communications devices.
  • Coordinate and manage the daily operation of on-prem and cloud IT infrastructure and all related network and telecom services.
  • Manage 0365, Azure tenant, and Active Directory services.
  • Review and approve major contracts for computing and information technology services and equipment.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, opportunities for enterprise solutions, conflicting business practices, and integration issues to facilitate better project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Two-year diploma in Information and/or Computer Technology, with preference for a four-year degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in supervising and coordinating staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a post-secondary or education environment is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management in the IT field.
  • Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, networking, and telecommunication systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, and communication (verbal & written) skills: the ability to interact effectively and sensitively with a wide variety of people with diverse professional and technical backgrounds.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, and ability to challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills: the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and complex technical environment and the ability to adapt to changing customer's needs and priorities.
  • Flexible and collaborative work style, with a pro-active and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to successfully plan, implement, and lead complex technical projects, including planning for future growth.
  • Professional development focus: ability and interest to stay current with new technologies.
  • Ability to communicate IT-related information in a manner applicable to the audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement IT-based solutions.
