We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor to join our team at Kindred Credit Union. As a key member of our Internal Audit department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our risk management, control, and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assurance services to evaluate the effectiveness of key controls for Head Office and Branch operations.
- Develop or update audit plans for assigned areas included in the annual Internal Audit Plan, including more complex and higher risk processes.
- Review and analyze findings, identify issues and their root causes, consider risks and impacts, and develop cost-effective and practical recommendations to strengthen internal controls or improve operational efficiency.
- Provide advisory services to evaluate the effectiveness of key controls for new initiatives, process changes, and projects.
- Research topics related to risk management, control, and governance processes and assess the adequacy of Kindred's practices.
- Certified Internal Auditor and/or Chartered Professional Accountant designation is essential.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Internal Audit.
- Strong technical and interpersonal/communication skills are essential.
- Specific expertise in IT audit is requested and preferred.
- Experience in financial services is an asset.
