About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Professional to join our team at Smitty's Family Restaurant - (Lawson Heights). As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Staff Training and Supervision: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure we have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas, and organize buffets and banquets to ensure a high level of presentation and service.
  • Kitchen Operations: Manage kitchen operations to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently, and make adjustments as needed to meet customer demand.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Work Setting: This role is based in a restaurant and bar environment.
  • Supervision: The successful candidate will be supervised by a Cook (general) and will be required to work a 30 to 40 hour week.
