The Unit Manager is a key leadership role responsible for providing clinical leadership and operational management for patient care units. This role requires strong clinical nursing skills, experience in leadership, facilitation, coaching, people management, change management, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and operational management for patient care units
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Implement and sustain collaborative care and appropriate scope of practice in clinical operations
- Coach, mentor, and lead team members in the delivery of quality care and clinical quality improvements
- Resource utilization will be relevant, efficient, and effective
- Active registration with CARNA required
- Current BCLS-HCP required
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role (e.g. Charge Nurse, Nurse Educator, Professional Practice Lead, etc.) an asset
- Knowledge of acute care
- Knowledge of AHS, Alberta's healthcare structure, and of collective agreements
- Experience in perinatal nursing, specifically post partum care
