We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Pet Valu. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for coaching and developing your store team to deliver exceptional customer service and help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and solutions for their pets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all customer service standards are met by staff and maintain courteous relationships within the community.
- Manage a team of employees, including recruiting, scheduling, training, day-to-day assignment of tasks, supervision, and coaching.
- Ensure that all staff adhere to the standards and procedures set at the corporate operations level.
- Coordinate order placements, maintain appropriate inventory, ensure that store audits and safety audits are completed, coordinate minor store repairs, and complete miscellaneous corporate paperwork.
- Coordinate efforts of store staff to achieve targeted results.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store management experience.
- Enthusiasm for learning and growth in the pet care industry.
- Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements, which include weekends and evenings.
- Reliable means of transportation to and from the store.
- Working knowledge of POS system.
- Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.
