Pet Care Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Keyholder to join our team at Pet Valu. As a Keyholder, you will play a key role in ensuring consistently great execution and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety and Compliance
- Prioritize the safety of customers, pets, and colleagues by maintaining a safe and clean store environment.
- Help complete store Health & Safety audits and ensure the proper health, feeding, care, and well-being of all pets sold in store.
- Customer Service
- Greet and acknowledge every person and pet with respect and approach each interaction with appreciation and genuine care.
- Provide positive, consistent, and solution-oriented service to meet the needs of our customers.
- Product Knowledge and Sales
- Stay current with pet industry standards through company LMS and on-the-job training.
- Support sales, customer service, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve overall Store Performance goals.
- Operational Efficiency
- Assist with operational processes, including placing orders, maintaining inventory, and completing mandatory paperwork and reports.
- Help implement all strategic corporate initiatives and follow company policies and procedures.
- Leadership and Development
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude in the workplace.
- Recognize successful performance through STAR feedback and assign daily goals and tasks to colleagues as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
- Working knowledge of POS systems.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and sales skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
