About the Role

The Porter is a key member of our event services team, responsible for the setup and tear down of our venue. This involves moving and placing tables, chairs, decorations, and other items required for events. The Porter is accountable for maintaining the organization and upkeep of the venue, working during business and non-business hours, including early morning and late evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the venue according to the event plan and client requests, ensuring all details are met.
  • Ensure the venue is 100% set for the next event if you are the last person/team to leave before a breakfast event.
  • Lead other staff members to ensure efficient and effective setup.
  • Lift and move heavy and light objects in a safe and timely manner.
  • Tear down the venue after an event and ensure it is clear and maintained to our standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the venue.
  • Comply with and act in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Receive and sign off on materials and shipments from clients and couriers, and notify a manager each time.
  • Meet, greet, and escort clients from the loading dock, offering assistance as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a variable workload, ensuring safe, timely, and accurate completion of assigned work.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to listen and follow clear directions.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or occasional overnight shifts.
  • Dependable and goal-oriented.
