Position Overview:

The HR Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily human resources functions within the organization. This position is responsible for the effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring a safe and productive work environment. The HR Operations Specialist will foster a culture focused on employee engagement and high performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Development:

  • Support the creation and management of HR programs and guidelines that align with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the establishment of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Engage in administrative meetings and relevant seminars.
  • Assist in monitoring the annual HR budget.

HR Information Systems:

  • Oversee the maintenance of HR software systems, ensuring accurate reporting and data management.
  • Utilize HR technology to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Manage payroll processing and collaborate with finance teams to ensure data integrity.

Training and Development:

  • Facilitate the implementation of performance management systems and employee development initiatives.
  • Help establish a comprehensive training program addressing various employee needs.
  • Assist in selecting external training resources and provide necessary educational materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee training activities.

Recruitment:

  • Oversee the recruitment process for various positions, ensuring a thorough selection of candidates.
  • Coordinate recruitment planning meetings as needed.
  • Review applications and conduct interviews for non-exempt positions.

Employee Relations:

  • Assist in developing HR policies related to employee relations and workplace safety.
  • Collaborate with management to communicate HR policies and legal requirements.
  • Recommend practices to enhance employee morale and foster positive relationships.
  • Participate in investigations related to employee concerns.

Labor Relations:

  • Understand and implement collective bargaining agreements effectively.
  • Analyze labor agreements to support operational efficiency and positive employee relations.
  • Build strong relationships with union representatives and site leadership.

Safety Management:

  • Maintain and update safety manuals and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in implementing health and safety programs, tracking compliance metrics.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Benefits Administration:

  • Manage daily benefits administration and assist employees with claims.
  • Coordinate benefits onboarding and annual enrollment processes.

Legal Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Protect the interests of both employees and the organization in accordance with HR policies.

Organizational Development:

  • Support initiatives related to succession planning and workforce development.
  • Facilitate employee feedback mechanisms to enhance organizational culture.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in HR roles; 5 years in leadership positions preferred.

Skills: Strong knowledge of employment laws, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
