Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing Director to join our team at Northwest Territories Tourism. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan to promote the Northwest Territories as a tourist destination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a marketing plan that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Lead a small team of marketing professionals and provide guidance and support to ensure successful implementation of marketing initiatives.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with General Sales Agents, Destination Canada, and other contractors to ensure successful delivery of marketing programs.
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement research projects and funding applications to support marketing initiatives.
- Ensure quarterly and annual reporting to funding partners is completed to the required specifications and timelines.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a marketing position with a Destination Marketing Organization, Government tourism office, or private sector business.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing plans and campaigns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural and multicultural setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of the NWT's tourism products and marketing initiatives.
