Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at the London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital and providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments, including preparing medical equipment and supplies.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our pet parents, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit.
  • Develop a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients, promoting their well-being and recovery.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, maintaining the cleanliness of reception areas, pet holding areas, and common spaces.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your knowledge of veterinary services, medical office procedures, and assisting the veterinary staff.
  • Provide exceptional client service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary assistant or veterinary office assistant program certificate an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and veterinarians.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, with a strong focus on patient safety and well-being.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
