Brandt is actively seeking a skilled Field Heavy Equipment Technician to join our dedicated team.

This role entails the comprehensive repair and upkeep of forklift-related machinery and attachments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively assess the operational state of heavy-duty equipment, diagnose issues, disassemble/reassemble components, procure necessary parts, and execute repairs.
  • Utilize secondary materials and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Employ various instruments, hand tools, power tools, and computer systems as required.
  • Thoroughly document all machine details, actions performed, and time spent on work orders.
  • Continuously evaluate service-related hazards to ensure work is conducted safely and meets established standards.
  • Leverage computer applications and information systems (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) for maintenance documentation, inspections, and diagnostics.
  • Reference parts catalogs to identify and order parts from inventory personnel.
  • Conduct road tests on equipment and verify attachment functionality as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with customers, service teams, and branch staff.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor skills.
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.


Preferred Experience

  • Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment setting is advantageous.
  • Certification as a Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician trade or an equivalent recognized trade is preferred.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service and service quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, service teams, and branch personnel.
  • Physical capability to meet demands such as climbing, overhead lifting, and prolonged standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
