Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Jardeg-Construction. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment, completing inspections and maintenance on company equipment, and servicing and rebuilding construction equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including inspections, lubrication, and replacement of parts.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, using technical knowledge and experience to identify and resolve problems.
  • Service and rebuild construction equipment, including hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Document maintenance activities and repairs in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Journeyperson or valid apprenticeship in Heavy Equipment Technician trade.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 Drivers License.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience with off-road construction equipment, field trucks, and support equipment.
  • Have extensive troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Have experience with completing purchase orders, requisitions, and time sheets.
  • Have excellent written communication skills to complete daily service reports.
