Loading Dock Equipment Technician

Job Summary:

As an Overhead Door Service Technician at Northern Dock Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers' loading dock and door equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete installation, field service, preventive maintenance, and repair of loading dock, overhead door, and commercial door equipment.
  • Work with coordinators to obtain parts, schedule appointments, and provide technical support.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck, ensuring adequate stock levels of required parts.
  • Identify and report low part quantities for reordering.
  • Complete daily work forms and PMP checklists in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrate proper safety procedures and product knowledge.
  • Supervise and train apprentices as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the overhead dock and door industry.
  • High proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge.
  • Sound electrical knowledge.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to keep current with required training and compliance.
