Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance your technical expertise in areas including compilations, reviews, bookkeeping, and taxation.
  • Acquire knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), as well as the Canadian Income Tax Act and associated regulations.
  • Establish files for new clients and businesses, manage various accounts, and perform inventory assessments.
  • Investigate tax-related matters and evaluate their consequences.
  • Gather and assess financial and tax-related information.
  • Examine and rectify inconsistencies in financial records and reports.
  • Prepare tax filings and calculate tax liabilities.
  • Draft correspondence, reports, client summaries, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the client engagement team to foster strong client relationships.
  • Innovate and propose new strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Be open to travel as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration, with a focus on accounting or finance preferred.
  • Working towards the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
  • Prior experience in a tax or accounting-related office setting is advantageous.
  • Customer service experience is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with accounting and tax software is a plus.
