We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Phlebotomists (Donor Care Associates) at our Calgary Donor Centre. In this vital role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood donations, contributing directly to the health and well-being of countless Canadians.

About the Role

As a Phlebotomist (Donor Care Associate), your primary responsibility will be to collect donor blood safely and efficiently while providing exceptional care and support throughout the donation process. You will work closely with donors, team members, and volunteers to create a positive and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough donor registration and screening procedures to ensure eligibility and safety.
  • Monitor donor well-being and comfort during the donation process, providing reassurance and support as needed.
  • Adhere to strict health and safety protocols for the handling and processing of blood products.
  • Assist in the collection of whole blood and apheresis blood components using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Contribute to the setup and operation of donor clinics at mobile events, ensuring a smooth and efficient donation experience.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a recognized phlebotomy training program or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with donors and colleagues.
