Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our physical plant and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform demand and preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Operate and maintain all Power House related equipment, including boilers, chillers, electrical systems, and medical gas systems.
  • Participate in various checks of all equipment and mechanical rooms to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Respond to emergencies and handle trouble calls from PMH as instructed.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to maintain a harmonious working relationship throughout PMH.
  • Participate in new construction and commissioning as required.
  • Perform all required aspects of preventive maintenance.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
  • Second Class Power Engineering Certificate as recognized by the Province of Manitoba
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs and Internet applications
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures
  • Ability to display independent judgment
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to heavy lifting, bending, and working in elevated areas. The ability to work in confined spaces and enclosures is also required.
