Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

At the Manitoba Government, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Water Services Branch, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our water treatment and supply systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and advice to our operations team
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to water treatment and supply systems
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve system efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design, operate, and maintain our water treatment and supply systems
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering (e.g. Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, Mechanical, or Electrical)
  • Registration as a P.Eng. with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM), or eligible to transfer from a reciprocating Engineering Association within three months
  • Experience in water and/or waste water treatment technologies, drinking water infrastructure, and preventative maintenance activities
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health work practices
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Acts and Regulations
